In December 2015 Jayen were awarded the civils contract for the new JEC St Helier West substation at Westmount which will safeguard St Heliers electrical supply into the future. This environmentally sensitive project involves design and build of a soil nailed and precast concrete retaining wall, major earthworks, piling and a complex concrete slab after which a specialist structure will be constructed to house the extensive switchgear. Once complete the area will be landscaped with granite screen walls and planted to return the area to its natural conditions. This project has a duration of 3 years commencing January 2016.
